Yet more U8s kick off their Stokey careers!

Sunday 10 July 2011:  SNCC U8s - 128 for 3 vs Wanstead U8s - 50 odd for 10.  Won by 70 odd runs (friendly).

Once again it was a pleasure to welcome our new friends from Wanstead who came to the Marshes and participated in a hugely entertaining morning's cricket.

Stokey batted first and played some very pleasing shots, with David Ansah the pick of the batsmen.  All credit must go to Wanstead who stuck to their task and deservedly got a couple of wickets from straight bowling and a direct run out.  Stokey finished on 128 net for 3 wickets.  Once again it was Stokey's ground fielding which was the difference between the sides, with two great catches from Bogle, a direct-hit run out from Albie and some smart work from Jonti, helping the cause.  A vocal Stokey were led by Monty's great encouragement as Wanstead finished on 50 odd net for the loss of 10 wickets.  A great start again to some more Stokey careers, with the game played in a very sporting spirit.
