Five wickets for Arthur as U15s beat Hornsey by six wickets

Thursday 9 June 2011:  Hornsey U15s B - 46 all out vs SNCC U15s - 47 for 4.  Won by six wickets (league).

Under a cloudy Springfield sky, Hornsey won the toss and elected to bat.  Irfan opened the bowling with devastating effect, turning in a double wicket maiden in his first over and finishing with superb figures of 3 for 7.  Theo got into his rhythm at the other end and ended with a very respectable 2 for 17 off his four overs.  SNCC fielded as a solid unit and kept the score to a mere 27 for 5 when the first change bowling pair of Arthur and Timon came on.  Arthur went for just 3 runs in his first over but his second over was sheer magic - Dot / Wicket / Wicket / Wicket / Dot / Wicket read the scorebook, wrapping up the innings and finishing with outstanding figures of 5 for 3.

SNCC reversed the batting order but got off to a shaky start losing three wickets for just 18 runs after the seventh over.  Amir steadied the innings, picking off a few singles before falling to a decent yorker.  Ben looked solid at the crease and was supported nicely by Arthur, this time with the bat picking up 6 at the other end.  Hornsey bowled erratically and notched up 19 extras in total.  The game finished with a no ball which Ben hit for four through midwicket leaving him with 16 not out and SNCC with a comfortable victory.
