U11s brave the cold to beat Regent's Park

Sunday 15 May 2011:  SNCC U11s - 155 for 6 vs Regent's Park U11s - 94 all out.  Won by 61 runs (league).

Stoke won the toss and elected to bat on a bright, chilly Sunday morning at Regent's Park.  An opening partnership between Sal Whitehead and Flint Drummond of 91 in 11 overs provided another excellent start for the team.

Sal was bowled on 40 and Flint was eventually bowled for 39.  Good support from Elliot Dixon, Alfie Kingsley-Smith and Archie Lloyd and a quick-fire seven off four balls from Tom Mills ended the Stoke innings on 155 for 6 off 20 overs.  Only one of the seven batsmen failed to score a boundary.

Losing an early wicket off the last ball of Henry Pratt’s opening over ( final figures of one for 10 off 3), Regent's Park were 5 for 1 off 1.  A recovery followed, after some inaccurate bowling from Stoke, and Regent's Park were 44 for 1 off 7.  Wickets then followed from Alfie Kingsley-Smith (one for 9 off 2), Sal Whitehead (two for 5 off 2), Flint Drummond (three for 12 off 3), Lewis Duncan (one for 8 off 2) and the innings was rounded off by Tom Mills (one for four off 1.3) with an excellent catch by Elliott Dixon at slip.  Regent's Park were all out for 94 in the 18th over.

Fielding improved immeasurably from last week.  Elliot Dixon and Tom Mills taking two catches each and one each for Henry Pratt and Archie Lloyd rounded off a good morning for the U11s, who won by 61 runs.
