Tuesday 14 June 2011: SNCC U10s - 111 for 3 vs Islington U10s - 51 for 13. Won by 110 runs (league)
An under-strength Islington team (which had run Hornsey very close in their previous league match) battled hard in the field but ultimately lacked the firepower to stay the course.
After Stokey had won the toss and chosen to bat, Islington's six-man attack made the visitors work for their runs. Steady accumulation was the order of the day with all the batsmen chipping in to build a competitive total of 111 for 3 (net 96). Shot of the day (if not the season) was a lofted on-drive by Aman Singh which was caressed over midwicket - for six!
Islington's inexperienced batting line-up then encountered a disciplined performance from all Stokey's bowlers, supported by another impressive effort in the field. Highlights included a direct-hit run-out by Dillon Singh, two sharp stumpings by Henry Pratt and a back-pedalling high catch from Aman Singh. Wickets fell at regular intervals throughout the innings leaving Stokey comfortable winners on a most amenable summer's evening at Wray Crescent.
