Seniors make Saturday league debut
Saturday 7 May 2011: Victoria Park - 228 for 7 vs SNCC 93 all out.  Lost by 135 runs (NELCL).
Our first game in the Saturday league at Millfields and captain Scott won the toss and sent them in. We are at least winning tosses at the moment!
The father-son opening partnership of Gus and Simon got us going.  It was tight and Gus picked up a wicket early.  Again he broke down, this time after four overs.  Winston came on and after a wicket LBW their number 3 and 4 began to take control.  They got to around 100 after 20 overs, but thereafter took the bowling apart, though dropped catches were a major part of this disappointment.  They ended on 228 for 7 after the 35 on a pudding of an early season wicket.
Gus       4 overs, 1 for 18
Simon    6 overs, 1 for 24
Winston 6 overs, 3 for 24
Ali         4 overs, 1 for 18
Tom T   4 overs, 1 for 39
Scott and new man Ali opened brightly reaching 50 without loss.  Ali then went with the score in the 50's for 14.  Gus then went first ball followed a couple of balls later by Scott for 34.  Alex followed swiftly and the game was lost.  We limped to 93 all out to lose by 135 runs.
