It's two from two for Stokey in the VPL

Wednesday 9 May 2012:  Rose & Crown - 58 all out vs SNCC - 60 for 5.  Won by three wickets (VPL).

Stoke Newington chose to bowl and Simon struck with the last ball of the first over, the swing being very dangerous.  Scott got one in the second and wickets continued to tumble.  Stokey's openers completing their spells.  After 8 overs the Rose were 25 for 4. After that Patrick opened up to push the score on to 58 before running out of partners.

Stoke Newington gave their regular openers a rest.  Ali started well and new boy Charlie too before he fell for 7 with the score on 18.  Waheed Ullah and Ali pushed on steadily until the score was 54 (only 5 to get) before Ali thought he'd finish it with a big one and was bowled.  In came Sardar with the same mentality, he got 2 before again same story, bowled, score 57.  Waheed Jan (a proper no 11) followed next ball, score 57. Mild panic set in when Waheed missed one too, 58.  Finally Stokey sent in their openers and got over the line.
