1st XI make it 3 from 3!

Out at Boston Manor by the M4 Stoke Newington lost the toss and were asked to bowl.

Openers Zabehula Mohammad and Gus Walsh began in a fine rain and made fielding difficult. The ball was slippery and catches were dropped. A bad one in the gully off Walsh was particularly poor as opener D Jadeja was looking particularly dangerous. He went in the 7th over to a lifter from Zabehula Mohammad caught behind with the score on 35. Suddenly tails were up. Irfan Mohmand replaced Walsh and Mohamad had changed ends. The other opener Y Jethwa went to Mohmand bowled and R Rathad to the ball of the day, again bowled, this time to Mohammad.
This brought in M Patel and captain D Darbar. Both looked accomplished batsmen striking the ball to the boundary almost at will. The bowlers heads dropped as boundary after boundary was struck. At drinks after 25 overs Rajput were 125 for 3 and looking in a very strong position.
After 32 overs (152) with both batsmen having just made their 50's Stokey finally got the breakthrough.

Scott Doody and Irfan Zakhel had slowed the run rate successfully but now Doody got the vital breakthrough. Having moved a fielder to the boundary he bowled a long hop and M Patel was caught by Sarafat Ali on the boundary for 51. Immediately Zabehula Mohammad was back and had Bharat Patel caught and the first ball of the next Doody had captain D Dardar LBW.
Doody missed his hatrick but between them cleaned the tail up. 168 all out after 42.1 overs.

In reply captain Doody shuffled the batting order. This time Raheem Knan and Abul Kasim Nalla started. Nalla looking particularly good. All was progressing well when Nalla (27) who had looked comfortable and set took a huge swipe and was caught on the boundary in the tenth over with the score on 47. Next over Khan (20) went too, this time bowled.

New batsmen Toby Jenkinson and Ijaz Manjra consolidated until the 17th when Jenkinson was caught. Manjra held things together with young Sarafat Ali who hit a couple of fine sixes before holing out the boundary for sixteen with the score on 112. Irfan Mohmand quickly followed to the in swing of R Rathod. At drinks at 25 overs Stoke Newington were 118 for 5 but with many of the usual top order to come. Manjra went, run out, for 22 with the score on 143 and thought Zabehula Mohamed was caught in the covers with an incredible catch (149-7) usual opener Doody and Gus Walsh saw them home in 33 overs.
