1st XI beat All Lions

On sunny day in North Wembley Stoke Newington captain Scott Doody chose to bowl.

Openers Gus Walsh and Irfan Zakhel started well but the ball did not go to hand or just missed the bat.

The first fell to Walsh with a lifter that caught the glove. The score 29. New bat Sudeep had IPL intentions and threw the bat scoring four 6's and a 4 in his 29 before falling to a beauty from Zabehulah Mohammad. The score 73.

Opener Dileepa and partner Hushoo stuck to the task as Stokey Mixtecs up the bowling. It was in the 15th over that Hushoo went with the score on 91 and a tough looking day in the field ahead.

Things changed after drinks at 22 overs. All lions lost four wickets to Doidy and Zazai who then hurt himself on the boundary. Score 120 for 7.

Stoke Newington uncharacteristicly didn't go for the jugular. Zazai's injury being the key. Though the 8th wicket fell on 152 All Lions tail was wagging.
Jayasingha 17no and Srirangan 35 took the score to 201 all out after 43.5 overs

G Walsh              6 overs      30 for 2
S Doody              11.1          33 for 3
Z Mohammad.    9                49 for 2

Openers Alex Chadwick and Scott Doody started well and when Chadwick went for 15 the target had been eaten into.

The middle order batted steadily and sensibly. Doody falling for 40, Jenkinson 15 and Ijaz Manjra with a wonderful 54. All looked good at 169 for 4.

There was a mini panic as Z Mohammad, I Mohmand and T Ashman all went cheaply leaving Stokey reeling on 184 for 7.

Luckily Sarafat Ali with a mature 58 not out supported by Gus Walsh saw us home by 3 wickets in 38 overs.

I Manjra 54
S Ali 58 no
S Doody 40

Stoke Newington win by 3 wickets
