Stokey take over Lord's!
A fantastic turn-out from our U8, U9 and U10 squads ensured that the LV = SOS Kit Aid charity event run by Middlesex CC and the Lords Taverners at Lords on Sunday 19 June was a thoroughly Stoke Newington affair.

SOS Kit Aid recycles unwanted rugby and cricket kit for distribution to disadvantaged young people in the UK and overseas. By donating an unwanted piece of kit, young players from a number of Middlesex clubs got free entry to the County LV= Championship match between Middlesex and Kent, followed by lunch and an hour long cricket and rugby coaching session in the Lords Indoor Cricket School where our numbers were swelled even further by arrivals from the U9 and U10 squads after their matches had finished.

The price of all this was having to sort a large pile of donated kit into various wheely bins. However, the numbers that came along from SNCC helped to make short work of this task so that we could move swiftly on to lunch and a chance to watch a few overs of an eventful game between Kent and Middlesex where we left Kent tottering at 47-7 in their first innings!

This was a fantastic opportunity to visit Lords and use their facilities - many of the boys were buzzing about the trip all of the following week. Thank you to everyone for making the effort to turn up to support the charity and respond to the invitation from Middlesex so positively. This certainly did not go unnoticed in the corridors of power at Lord's!
